Your study data

Updated 5 October 2026. This notice covers Learn Australia's free preview, website and native apps, including store purchases where enabled. For privacy questions or requests, contact oliver@betaglobal.uk.

Study progress and reminders

Your answers, lesson progress, saved lessons, mock results, test date, preferences and downloaded lessons stay on your device. They are not backed up to a Learn Australia account. Optional reminders are scheduled by your phone; their times are not sent to us. The app asks for notification permission when you enable reminders.

Information sent to the service

• Technical requests: Cloudflare processes request information, such as your IP address, browser or app information, requested resource and time, to deliver and protect the service.
• Optional analytics: after you accept analytics, a random session reference, visits, study activity, campaign labels and app versions help us understand which features are used. These records do not include your answers, scores, test date, email address or immigration documents.
• Optional Share study activity: when you enable this in Preferences and accept analytics, a random installation reference and session reference connect visits, lesson starts, completions, exits, request failures and coarse error types across sessions. Error reports do not contain error messages, stacks or URLs. This information helps us improve lessons and reliability.
• Feedback: if you send feedback or report a question, we store your message, optional reply email, question reference, platform and app/build versions so we can review it. Feedback does not require an account or analytics consent. Short-lived hashed request addresses help prevent abuse; raw IP addresses are not stored in the feedback database.

Analytics and Share study activity are optional and off until you choose them. You can study without enabling either. The installation reference is pseudonymous, not fully anonymous, because it can connect events from the same installation. No third-party advertising is shown, and we do not sell your personal information or forward optional analytics to Meta or PostHog.

Storage, providers and retention

Cloudflare hosts this app's independent backend and database. Optional analytics records are kept for up to 90 days. Feedback and Share study activity events are kept for up to 180 days and removed by automatic cleanup. Google Workspace handles email addresses, messages and attachments sent to the support mailbox. Support correspondence is handled separately from the automatic in-app feedback cleanup and is kept while needed to handle your request and related obligations, then reviewed for removal.

Requests use HTTPS. Service providers may process information outside Australia under their own infrastructure and data-processing arrangements. Information is used to deliver and protect the app, understand opted-in study activity and respond to requests. It is not used to assess immigration eligibility or predict an official test result.

Your choices and deletion

Preferences lets you change analytics choices, turn off Share study activity, disable reminders and clear this device's study data. Turning off optional collection stops future events without clearing your study progress. Preferences → Delete my data can request erasure of activity associated with references available on this device. References from earlier sessions or other devices may not be available there.

For access, correction, deletion or a privacy concern, email oliver@betaglobal.uk, quoting your study reference where available or the details needed to locate feedback. Clearing browser storage or uninstalling the app does not itself remove feedback or activity already sent to the service. Separate support correspondence is not silently treated as deleted. Do not send identity documents, immigration case files, passwords or payment details.

Accounts, purchases and children

No Learn Australia account is required. Existing free preview builds do not offer purchases. Where enabled, the native app offers a one-time full-course purchase and an optional auto-renewing weekly subscription through Apple or Google Play. The stores process your payment under their own policies; Learn Australia does not receive your payment-card details.

RevenueCat processes a pseudonymous purchase identity, app and device/store information, products and transaction, subscription, renewal and refund status to verify purchases and restores. Our separate Cloudflare billing backend records purchase/access status for that identity. This processing is necessary for paid access and is separate from optional study analytics. Providers may process information outside Australia under their data-processing arrangements.

Preferences → Delete my data can request deletion of the purchase identity and associated service/provider data. Store-held transactions and legally required records may remain. Deleting app data does not cancel a store subscription: cancel renewal in your Apple or Google Play subscription settings. You may later restore a store-owned purchase. Support correspondence is handled separately.

Learn Australia is intended for adults preparing for citizenship. We do not ask for a date of birth or immigration case documents; contact support if you believe a child has supplied personal information.

Changes

We update this notice when the service or its processing changes and show the date above. A new optional collection purpose requires a fresh choice before it starts.
